Dear Friend,
The second anniversary of Citizens United -- perhaps the worst US Supreme Court in a century -- is just about a week away. MassVOTE and our allies have a week's worth of events coming up, full of opportunities for you to learn more or join others take a stand against corporate power and fight to overturn the ruling.
The Citizens United decision overturned 100 years of jurisprudence and allowed corporations to spend unlimited sums to influence elections and opened the floodgates to corporate cash. In the 2010 election cycle, the first since the Supreme Court decision, outside groups spent nearly $300 million across the US.
The events are listed below. If you plan to come, rsvp via email me at avi@massvote.org and let me know at what events I might see you. Feel free to pass on the list to anyone you know who thinks politics should be for people, not corporations.
Together we can take a stand against big money in politics.
